Your Child's education is important to us.
Curriculum

Day to day sessions vary, and focus on early learning goals provided by the government. We place emphasis on the learning areas detailed below:
Communication, Language and Literacy
To help children develop these skills we utilise songs, stories and rhymes. The children will be encouraged to talk about their experiences, adding the development of vocabulary skills. Books will allow the children to learn letters of the alphabet, their shapes and sound. Books will familiarise the children with the letters of the alphabet, in both a visual and phonetic capacity. Writing and the formation of letters and words will be encouraged and nurtured during the daily routines. The children will also develop communication, language and literacy through drawing and artwork.
Social and Emotional Development
Nursery play will be themed, and encourage children to learn and develop personal, social and emotional skills. Promotion of independence and the development of confidence both on a personal and communal level will be nurtured. We will also promote the skill of learning to concentrate and enjoy sharing as a social group.
Creative Development
All classes will explore sensory activities, which will allow them to play and learn with sand, colour, textures, space, shapes and dimensions. Imagination will be encouraged through art, music, dance and stories. The structure of implementing these skills into the curriculum will also encourage and develop "look-and-listen skills".
Physical Development
Playbase recognises that physical development is very important part of the child's development while at nursery. Simple exercises will be incorporated into daily routines, and will allow children to use and experience the modern play equipment. The nursery has a range of both large and small indoor and outdoor equipment that allows children to receive good physical exercise whilst in a play environment. The spacious play areas within the nursery also allow the children to run and jump and play in groups. The equipment is the latest of its type, and it encourages the children to play both individually and in groups and is designed to stimulate co-ordination and physical development.
